Welcome to a community-based FM radio station rooted in the historic town of Minturn unlike any other in the Eagle County listening area.

Radio Free Minturn operates on 107.9 FM (KLNX), within the non-commercial band, as part of the low-power FM service authorized by the FCC. Our signal reaches listeners throughout Minturn, Vail, EagleVail, Avon, and Edwards, bringing a truly local voice to the valley.

Our mission is to serve the Eagle Valley by delivering radio programming that reflects the region’s diverse musical and cultural spirit, while fostering a supportive learning environment for aspiring broadcasters, journalism students, and music enthusiasts.

OUR STORY

What began in a downtown Minturn living room as a “pirate” radio station in 1998 has grown into a vibrant community platform. Thanks to the dedication of a few and the support of many, Radio Free Minturn continues to thrive on the airwaves.

We are proudly genre-free. From heavy metal to big band, our DJs bring an eclectic mix of music that reflects the diversity of our valley. Our music archive continues to grow—and so does our need for passionate voices to bring it to life.

We need volunteer DJs to do weekly one-to-two-hour shows. No prior experience needed. Just fill out a DJ application and let us know what kind of show you want to do.
